Enriching the lives of
young children in Uganda

Who We Are

Good Shepherd Network believes that education is the key tool to improve quality of life.

We work closely with volunteers, communities, schools and grassroots organisations in the UK and Uganda.

Activities include motivating children to go to school and retaining their participation with a special focus on girls.

We run a number of community based programmes focusing on education and health for women and children.

We provide educational scholarships to young boys and girls to complete their education.

Save a Life Medical Centre, Lake Bunyonyi

Near to our school in Kabale is Lake Bunyonyi, where there is no health facility for the 5000 households who live nearby.

Through donations and the hard work of many people who believe in this project, ‘SAVE A LIFE’ Medical Centre has now been built which will provide access to affordable, high-quality health care for the local community around Lake Bunyonyi. It still has some way to go to complete the construction but it is already giving much needed care to many local people.

Thank you if you have donated and if you wish to still support the project, please click the PayPal link.

Fundraising for our Medical Centre

Kate, who's the daughter of our directors has just completed a gruelling 25km swim and run challenge in her recovery from open heart surgery last year.
She ran across the South Downs in Brighton to Saltdean and then onto Ovingdean, Sea Lanes and finally Hove Lagoon. Kate completed a cold 500m swim at each location.

She has raised over £1500 which will make a huge difference to furnishing and equipping the health centre ready for opening this summer. There is also a particular need for a specially equipped 'boat ambulance' for health staff visiting the islands, and for transporting sick patients and pregnant women requiring urgent care which the money will support.
